  • Recall Blanco?
    Tuesday, September 13, 2005
Uh oh, this is exactly what I was warning you libs about. Despite all the criticism that Bush took, people down here are really taking a look at local government. They are really taking a look at Kathleen Blanco and the demand for her impeachment has begun.

I had joked a few times that one of the bright sides of this hurricane was that we learned that our Governor enjoys taking her time to think things through before making a decision. Unfortunately the joke is a little too true. She could point her finger at Bush but the bottom line is, if she didn't want to govern this state, why then did she even run for office?

People may be upset with FEMA, but if Micheal Brown ought to resign, then so should every first responder that is capable of doing something about the situation. I am not so hard on Ray Nagin as many others around here are. Still those most critical of the Bush administration that had the ability to do something ought to be held accountable for their own shortcomings. Thus comes the movement to recall Governor Blanco.

The Political Teen has video of Blanco admitting that she hesitated and should have sent troops in. Also Governor Blanco failed to show up and meet with refugees as promised. The Houston Chronicle also reports that Kathleen Blanco's political future is in doubt. Even the Northside Journal is complaining of Blanco's lack of leadership

    More to come...

J.R. This is no joke down here in NOLA. Our lives are wrecked and we are stuck with a bunch of corrupt local officials that no one in the country trusts - or should.

Blanco is at the top of that pyramid of corruption. I would dare say that any politician who has made it to office in this state - Republican or Democrat - is corrupt. So just by virtue of their position, we need to get rid of every single one of them and elect new folks. I've heard that the greek root of the name "Katrina" means "the cleansing" - well that's what we need.

The ball is now rolling to recall Blanco - and I'm going to do my part to give it steam!

Bashing Bush for this mess is just plain crazy. The man is a leader of an entire country - a country that, by the way - is at war. I think he has a few things on his mind besides how many buses the state has on hand to evacuate NOLA residents in the event of a hurricane. But that is JUST THE KIND OF THING that the governor of this state SHOULD HAVE ON HER MIND. She didn't. Blaco's laim response was to pick up the phone and cry to FEMA. She should have had a plan for this storm - it's not like we haven't been talking about this happening for years! The Governor should have had a plan and she didn't. When a ship runs aground the Captain gets fired - what else needs to be said?

And she still DON'T ... God help us if she's still in office next hurricane season - which is 8 months away. Support the recall effort! Get rid of Blanco and I guarantee you can shave at least a billion off the taxpayer dollars that are headed down here to help rebuild this place.
